CHURCH READERS   The following are the readers at Masses this weekend Pamela McCarthy at the 7pm on Saturday night and Miriam Considine at the 10am on Sunday morning.

BLACKROCK GAA NOTES   Blackrock GAA lotto Jackpot of €12,800 was won, and the cheque was presented to Joe McCarthy by Fintan Leahy Chairman, John Walsh Treasurer and Brendan O’Brien the lucky seller.  Joe and family were delighted with the win and extended best wishes and thanks to the club. There was no winner of the present lotto jackpot, the numbers drawn were 9, 26, 28, and 30.  The €40.00 lucky dip went to Derry McEnery, Ballyroe, promoter Donie O’Sullivan. €20.00 went to Josie McMahon, Glebe Road, promoter Breda Walsh. €20.00 to Ester O’Brien, Cush, promoter Brendan O’Brien. €20.00 to Megan & Nora Sheehy, Glenroe, promoter Healy’s Bar. €20.00 to Ann O’Sullivan, Deebert House, promoter Sean O’Sullivan. Next lotto is on Wednesday night in Healy’s Bar and the jackpot is €2,150. Best of luck to all our patrons and many thanks to our promoters for their support every week. The country was lifted by our very first world cup final this week, the Irish ladies hockey team lost the final to the Netherlands, and came away with a silver medal.  Congrats to all involved. All roads lead to Croke Park on August 19 for the All Ireland Senior hurling final against Galway.  Tickets will be scarce, all paid up registered club members can request to be in the draw for tickets. The Premier intermediate championship will resume after the All Ireland.

GROTTO MASS The Annual August Mass at the Grotto in Bishop Murphy Park will be celebrated on Monday August 14 at 7pm, choir members are requested to attend, and if the weather is unfavourable the mass will transfer to the church. The park has undergone extensive re-development over the past 12 months or so, new planting and landscaping at the water feature in front of the Statue of Our Blessed Lady, new kerbing surrounding the grass areas and just recently tarmacadam on the pathways and picnic area. The Community Council/Tidy Towns group were in a position to fully fund the improvements following the success in both the Limerick Going for Gold and the National Tidy Towns competitions, the collection at the Grotto mass and the Church Gate Collections this weekend will go towards the local Tidy Towns, thanks to the public for their ongoing support  

HILLSIDE PLAYERS YOUTH DRAMA It's that time of year again when the youth drama elders get together and discuss all things youth drama in Ardpatrick! After 3 very successful years we are hoping to continue supporting our very talented youth around the area. We are currently exploring our options for the production of a play in October 2018. We would love you to join us! Please help spread the word and tell all your family, friends and anyone who you think may have an interest in drama. The youth drama is open to all secondary school students and we offer many different roles within the group. Generally we run our workshop on Monday evenings between 7pm and 8pm in the Community Centre Ardpatrick. We are hoping to begin on Monday August 13 of but this will be confirmed at a later stage. Looking forward to seeing some new faces and welcoming back our current talented members.
