FIXTURES The Junior B’s had a win over Dromin Athlacca in the South Championship, on a score line of 0-26 to 2-09.  We play Knockainy on Saturday July 28, venue to be decided. The Premier Intermediates will resume championship in August with the next round via Pallasgreen, then Garryspillane, Bruree, Mungret and lastly Kildimo Pallaskenry. The Under 16’s had a narrow loss to Murroe/Boher this week, their next match is in several weeks against Newcastle West. Hard luck to Limerick minor hurlers who bowed out of the championship last weekend, well done to Jimmy Quilty Junior.

Best wishes to the Limerick Senior hurlers who play Cork in the All Ireland Semi-final on Sunday July 29, all roads lead to Croke Park and best wishes to Richie McCarthy and Jimmy Quilty, and all the team and management. ARDPATRICK DEVELOPMWNT PROJECT The Ardpatrick Development Projects group having been officially formed in the Community Centre, Ardpatrick on Friday July 13, called a meeting of the committee in the Community Centre for Friday night July 20 at 8.30 pm. The purpose of the meeting was, for the ADP committee to discuss what form of fundraising would be possible and should be undertaken, so that ADP would be in a position to purchase the properties as early as possible. The suggestion that a Strictly Come Dancing competition would be a good choice. Having decided to go with the idea a sub-committee was established and they will meet on Friday night in the Community Centre at 8.30 pm.

TRAFFIC CALMING Ardpatrick has been allocated €50,000 in funding from Limerick County Council for Traffic Calming measures, which are hoped will help to reduce the speed of cars driving through the village. A meeting will be held in the Community Centre in the village on Thursday July 26 at 8.30pm. It is hoped to walk around the village and get local residents views on what needs to be done. Anyone with an interest is welcome to attend. Please meet in the car park at 8.30pm. Councillor Lisa Marie Sheehy will be in attendance to discuss the funding. Locals will also get the opportunity shortly to meet with the roads engineers from Limerick County Council and put forward the views of people from the meeting on Thursday.

HILLSIDE PLAYERS YOUTH DRAMA It's that time of year again when the youth drama elders get together and discuss all things youth drama in Ardpatrick! After 3 very successful years we are hoping to continue supporting our very talented youth around the area. We are currently exploring our options for the production of a play in October 2018. We would love you to join us! The youth drama is open to all secondary school students and we offer many different roles within the group. Generally we run our workshop on Monday evenings between 7pm and 8pm in the Community Centre Ardpatrick. We are hoping to begin on Monday August 13 of but this will be confirmed at a later stage. Looking forward to seeing some new faces and welcoming back our current talented members.

THOMOND HISTORICAL AND ARCHAEOLOGICAL SOCIETY There will be history outing on Sunday July 29 by the Thomond Historical and Archaeological Society. This half-day tour will focus on the places and people associated with the 1798 Rebellion in the Kilmallock/Kilfinane/ Ballyorgan areas. The guide and speaker will be Nioclás Ó Dúinín, a local historian and expert on this topic. Non-members are welcome: meet at 2.30 pm outside the church in Kilmallock.
