FIXTURES The Championship is due to recommence the weekend of the July12. Congratulations to Jimmy Quilty Jnr. On making the subs bench for the minor match versus Clare and to the minor team on reaching the Munster final versus Tipperary on July 1. Sadly the seniors did not make the Munster final but good to see Richie and Jimmy taking the scenic route. The Limerick camogie team drew with Clare and the Ladies football team were comprehensively beaten by Clare. Congratulations to Therese Clifford who won a Silver Medal in the Special Olympics over the weekend in the golf skills competition. Well done Therese. BLESSING OF MEMORIAL On Sunday next June 24, there will be a blessing of the new plaque and limestone seat erected in memory of the Lawn and Barrett families formerly of the Black Road area of Upper Sunville, Ardpatrick. Fr. Anthony Bluett will perform the blessing in Bishop Murphy Park just prior to the 10 am Mass in the nearby Church, people are invited to the blessing and to the Community Centre for refreshments after Mass. This beautiful stonework was crafted by Kilfinane man John Goggin and is gifted to the community by relatives of the families based in Cork, after refreshments the history of both families will be outlined and their connections with the Black Road, many locals would be unaware of the Lawn family in particular. Members of the Tidy Towns Committee will host the event.
LOCAL COUNCILLOR’S CLINIC Councillor Lisa Marie Sheehy will hold summer advice clinics in her Ardpatrick office, upstairs from the Tea Cosy every Wednesday starting on Wednesday June 27, from 12 noon to 2pm for the convenience of her local constituent’s.
FAMILY FUN DA A family fun day will take place at Ardpatrick National School on Friday June 22 kicking off at 5.30 pm. Bouncy castle, face painting, BBQ, and loads of fun! Special VIP Therese Clifford, silver medallist in the Special Olympics last weekend to raise the Green Flag.
