HOLY WEEK: Holy Thursday, March 29 Mass of the Lord’s Supper at 8pm, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until 10.00 pm. Good Friday, March 30 Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion at 3pm. Saturday March 31 Mass at 9pm please note this Mass time. Easter Sunday April 1 normal Sunday Mass in the Church at 10am.
DAWN MASS: The Annual Dawn Mass on the hill of Ardpatrick takes place on Easter Sunday April 1 at 06.30 am, down through the years people have come from a wide area, for many it’s one of those special mornings and a form of pilgrimage. Please allow about 30 minutes after parking in the village for the stiff climb in semi-darkness, it is advisable to wear strong footwear as conditions may be greasy. After the Mass people are invited to the Community Centre for refreshments provided by members of the local Community Council, this year the chosen charity is the Circle of Friends Cancer Support Centre, Tipperary Town. If people wish to contribute there will be a donation box at the graveyard gate or in the Community Centre afterwards.
TLC4: Good Friday, March 30 Ardpatrick is participating in TLC4 through the Community Council/Tidy Towns organisations. Assembling at10am in the Community Centre for instruction on safety aspects and to organise ensuring the whole area is covered, and ensuring people will have High Visibility and equipment to safely clear our local roads of the rubbish strewn over them. All young people must be accompanied by an adult.
BEREAVEMENT: People in the locality were saddened to hear of the passing of Michael Hanrahan of Glenosheen, Ardpatrick, on last Sunday March 25 in the exceptional care of the staff at Milford Care Centre, Limerick. Sympathy is extended to his Brothers Jimmy and Gerard, Sisters Mary Allen (Kilworth) and Helen Buckley (Donohill), and Sisters in Law, Brothers in Law, and great friend Patsy Barrett, Nephews and Nieces, relatives and a large circle of friends. Reposed at John McCarthy and sons Funeral Home, Kilfinane, on Tuesday evening March 27 from 6-8pm with removal to Saint Patrick’s Church, Ardpatrick. Requiem Mass on Wednesday March 28 at 12o’clock with burial in the hill of Ardpatrick, may he rest in peace.
