In late 2016, early 2017, the community of Ardpatrick had a large meeting open to all members of the public, where people from all around the parish outlined all the positive areas within the parish and those that may need improving. With a broad range of suggestions ranging from footpaths around the village to better access to the graveyard and more, the most sought after development was an area or facility that the public could have access to, be it a playground, astroturf pitch, park or sports hall. A small group was later formed, known today as the Ardpatrick Development Projects group.
The group have identified a plot of land in a prime location, adjacent the Ardpatrick National School. This site is roughly 1 acre in size and is currently home to a small disused farm building. ADP are currently in the process of fundraising enough money to purchase the identified land.
